A recent publication in Nature Medicine, co-authored by two of our staff members, Kim Lezak and Lindsay Redman-Rivera, explores grantmaking practices to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the biomedical workforce. The collaborative team of authors from the offer recommendations in demographic data collection and use, increasing the diversity of the applicant and awardee pools, and reducing bias in peer review.
